Maggie & I are just back from a busy but successful couple of days making arrangements for the wedding. As we were waiting for the ferry to leave the harbor, we realized that it was 3 months to the day before the wedding. We are so excited about sharing time with you soon.

We are very close to making final decisions about catering, flowers, and cake. We also spent time scoping out the Brant Point Light and making decisions about the actual ceremony. We've also begun compiling a series of recommended activities for our guests to participate over the weekend. We'll post more details later, but here are a few highlights:
  • The weather was perfect, and likely very similar to what the weather will be like in September. It was comfortably warm during the day (65-75 degrees) and pleasantly chilly in the evening (just right for a sweater or jacket).
  • The Nantucket Regional Transportation Authority shuttle will operate through September. The shuttle routes will allow easy access to most parts of the island. This was one of our most exciting discoveries because it provides a viable option to explore the island for those who aren't comfortable walking or biking.
  • We discovered a new bike rental company, Easy Riders, that provides free delivery and pick-up anywhere on the island. Their rates are also a little less than the companies operating near the wharf and the pick-up/delivery is a great service.
  • Any knitters out there? Sheep to Shore is a great little shop in the Surfside area. Take classes, pick up a Nantucket sweater pattern, or just cruise for interesting yarn.
  • We're sending a shout-out to our friend David at 76 Main. 76 Main is a beautiful B&B just a couple of blocks from town. We've enjoyed staying there our last 2 times on island. If you're still looking for a place to stay, give David a call.
  • A Nantucket Doughnut Run: The Downyflake.
  • Nantucket Bookworks is a terrific independent bookseller. They are open until 10:30p so it's a great place to spend some after dinner time. Obviously they have a great selection of books but they also have lots of other quirky items.
  • Plymouth & Brockton offers bus service from Logan Airport to Hyannis. This is a great option for those of you who will be flying into Boston.
Make sure you book your reservations soon. Please let us know if you have any questions about the Island. We can't wait to see you all there!!!
